Christmas Cards

So Christmas is coming.  I love Christmas.  I love the lights and decorations.  I love the tree and the way it looks when there are wrapped presents under it.  I love to shop for gifts and I love to wrap gifts.  I love the holiday treats and dinners we have with family.  But I really love Christmas cards. I always look forward to putting our Christmas card together and I love to receive them.  I've got a long list of people I send cards to but I can always send/receive more!  If you'd like to exchange Christmas cards with me, please fill out the form below. Christmas Card Address This form will send your address right to my email address.  Once I receive your address, I'll email you back with mine.  That easy! I can't wait to see all of your cards!   Here's a Christmas photo we took that didn't make the card

Happy Thanksgiving...and other things

I decided that I wanted to host one of our holiday meals this year.  For some reason, I chose Thanksgiving.  Which is fine, except this was also the first year my husband wanted to have some of his family over for a Thanksgiving dinner as well. So, on Thanksgiving day, we had my Dad's side of the family to our house for dinner.  And then on the Saturday after Thanksgiving we had my husband's family to our house for dinner.  It was great.  I had so much food leftover on Thanksgiving day that I didn't even have to cook for the next meal on Saturday.  I just threw everything into crock pots. ~ Ashlyn had her first sleepover (in at least a year) Thanksgiving night.  She decided that she wanted to go home with my Aunt and her cousin.  They didn't think she would want to stay over but I assured them they would have no issues with that.  And they didn't.  Except that she woke everyone up at 4am because she was coughing so much. ...

I Suck

I'm a terrible blogger.  I haven't posted since October 30th.  That's insane. But in all honesty, since I have Instagram and post a ton there, I don't feel like I even need to blog anymore. Except I do.  It's such a great way to document things and it's a great outlet. So here I am.  I'm going to try to get out one post a week and get this thing going again.  I've totally slacked on posts about Bryan which sucks because Ashlyn's life is so fully documented on here. We've always got so much going on so it's not like there is a lack of material here. I'm just being lazy.  Plus my laptop was being a bitch and was making it really hard for me to want to sit and write.  It looks like that is fixed now so I have no excuse. The kids do a good job of keeping themselves busy these days so I should be able to crank out a few posts here and there. I'll go work on one now.

Nothing New

I haven't blogged in over a month!  Wow!  I miss blogging a lot.  I never have the time to sit down and write anymore.  The kids are happily playing and watching a movie right this second but I'm sure that will end any minute so let's see what I can get out here. There's nothing new or exciting going on over here so I'll just post some random things that are going on in our lives right now. Miss Ashlyn will be celebrating her 3rd birthday in a little over a month.  I can't believe this girl is going to be 3 already.  I am ridiculously amazed by this girl and how smart she is.  I love how sweet she is and how she talks to people wherever we go.  Even if she has just met you, you can bet she will give you a hug and a kiss when she's done talking to you.  It's just who she is. While we love how social she is, we are also very scared about it.  She has no boundaries.  She isn't scared of anyone.  We think it's time to start ...

Fashionista 5K

If you haven't heard of her, Laney Brown was an amazing little girl who had cancer.  I didn't know her personally and I don't ever remember seeing around even though we lived five minutes from her house.  You can read more about Laney on her website or Facebook page: Team Laney Facebook Page Laney's Legacy of Hope One of the things Laney wanted before she died was to have Christmas carolers come to her house.  Once this wish was put out there, everyone in our area, and some people from farther away, came to sing Christmas carols to that sweet girl.  My husband and I attended.  It was craziness!  There were over 10,000 people crammed into the street outside of her house singing carols for her. Laney died on Christmas day last year.  It was devastating to her family but it was also devastating to all of us.  That little girl brought so many people together. This is what it looked like outside of Laney's house.  Her mom posted t...

Words - ba ba, da da, ma ma Favorite toy - Cars airplane, activity walker, anything he's not supposed to play with I can't believe that this boy is a year old already.  The year has just flown by and now instead of a tiny newborn, I have a tall toddler who is starting to walk and gets into everything! Let's start with his stats.  I'm in total shock over his height and weight.  I can't believe how tall he is!  I mean, I guess I can believe it.  My husband is 6 feet tall and his dad is like 6'5 I think so we knew we were going to have a tall boy but to be off the charts for height?!  I'm not sure what's going on with his weight, though....

Bryan's First Birthday!

Well I have a one year old.  I can't believe that my sweet little boy is already a year old.  We just had his one year check up so I'll post more on that later.  How about some details about his first birthday party?! Let me start off by saying that the whole birthday was based off a personalized banner that I won in an IG auction.  Handmade by Fanya was so awesome!  She made me this awesome mustache birthday banner and matching cupcake picks.  I couldn't have asked for anything better.  Even the invitations were based off of the banner! The red balloon was added for two reasons.  1. In honor of #redballoonsforryan 2. I had all of these envelopes with red foil left over from our wedding four years ago and instead of buying new ones, I figured why not use them for the party! I didn't do anything crazy with decorations.  I bought these little mustache spirals and hung them outside.  I got some mustache confetti and put...
