10 Weeks!!!

It's been a while since I posted a blog update. I have been so busy with being back to work and trying to take care of my little girl that I just completely forgot about this blog! I will keep trying to post updates, they just may be less often than they were before. Baby Girl is now 10 weeks old and I can't believe how much she has grown and changed since birth. I'll start with her 2 month check up. Boy was that an adventure! Baby Girl was 12.5 lbs and 23 3/4 inches at her 2 month check up. Dr. Jeff said she is just fine with her weight and height. We had no serious issues to report, just wanted to inquire about her spitting up. He tells us we have nothing to worry about. The bad part about the 2 month check up is the shots. Oh yea, poor Baby Girl got 3 shots, 2 in one leg and 1 in the other. It was the first time I had ever heard her scream the way she did. She didn't even scream like that when she came out! As soon as that needle hit her leg, she was fumi...

8 Weeks!!!!!

Oh my goodness. I can't believe we are already at 8 weeks. The time has just flown by and I know it's just going to keep on flying! I have to give Daddy some credit. He started Little Miss on a sleeping schedule last week. The first night was pretty rough. Little girl was really grouchy and so she cried a lot. Mommy cried too. :( The second night was not nearly as bad. She fell asleep around midnight but there was no crying this time! Baby girl went to bed around midnight every night last week and woke up around 5 or 6am. While midnight is still a bit late, we have made progress. We are no longer staying awake until 2am! The soy formula has just been awesome. She is still spitting up quite a bit but I will take that over the gas and constipation any day. We can ask her doctor about her spitting up at her next appointment but I think she is fine. The last time I weighed her she was at 11 lbs 8 oz. She is getting so big! I gave her a bath in her bath tub last week...

7 Weeks!!!

I'm not really sure where to begin here. My baby girl is already 7 weeks old. I can't believe how big she is getting already. I can't believe how much different she looks from when she was first born. I can't believe how much I am dreading going back to work. I can't believe how much love I have for this little girl. There is no such thing as a schedule with this little one. She has her early nights and her late nights. How much she sleeps during the day really doesn't have any effect on how she sleeps at night either. She sleeps when she wants to. I still have to give her some credit: she does sleep in 4 to 6 hour shifts at night regardless of what time she goes to sleep. Sometimes we think she is asleep so we put he down and she wakes up and then stays up for a while. The only way to really tell if she is sleeping is to try and scare her. If she sleeps through it, she's OUT! She scares herself a lot in her sleep. When she scares herself, she usually throws...

6 weeks!!

6 weeks old. I CANNOT believe it! The time is moving so quickly. Her schedule is worse now than it's ever been. She is awake late almost every night now. We don't generally go to bed until 2am, but then she still sleeps for at least 4 hours so we still aren't doing too badly. She still takes her cat naps but we are going to be trying to keep her awake more during the day. She usually gets pretty mad when you try to keep her awake but she will get used to it. We finally switched her to the soy formula. She still has some gas but it's not nearly as bad as it was before and she has pooped every day since we started the soy. She is still spitting up quite a bit but we are hoping that will stop after a while. I'm just so glad that she is more comfortable on the soy. She got her first real bath this week and she wasn't too fond of it. My Mom thought for sure that she would love sitting in the water but she didn't like it at all. She got used to it after a while bu...

5 Weeks!

5 weeks old today! What is going on? The time is just flying by way too fast. We have still been working to get this little girl on a schedule. We tried a 3 hour schedule but it just wasn't working out. Last night she went to sleep around 11 and didn't wake up until 6am! What a long night!! We are hoping for more nights like that. She isn't too terrible with sleeping. She still only wakes up once a night. The only tough times are when she decides to skip sleeping from 11 to 2. That happens about once per week. She usually takes one long nap during the day and then little cat naps the rest of the day. She is usually happy whenever she is awake but she still has her fussy time every day. She loves Grandma's house and she is almost never fussy while she is there! We still have some issues with gassiness and her pooping schedule is just all over the place. I can't decide whether to put her on the Soy forum la or not. I have had so many people telling me to try it, that ...

4 Weeks!!

Ashlyn will be 4 weeks old at 6:09pm! I have no idea where all of the time is going but it's already been 4 weeks since I had my baby girl! We have been working hard to get Ashlyn into a feeding and sleeping schedule. She has been doing so well! She usually goes to bed pretty late, around midnight but then she doesn't wake up until around 4 or 5. It's nice to get 4 or 5 hours of sleep! I can't say it's solid sleep because she still makes a ton of noise while she's sleeping but it's still something. She still has her good days and bad days but she is still a happy baby most of the time. She gets extremely fussy after 7 but then usually calms down by 9 or 10. She sleeps much less during the day now so I'm sure that's why she gets fussy. I'll deal with her being fussy as long as she sleeps those 4 or 5 hours through the night! We still have some issues with gassiness and she only poops maybe once every other day. We tried giving her some apple juice...

3 Weeks!!

Ashlyn will be 3 weeks old at 6:09pm! I already feel like the time is flying by! 3 week old?! I just had her yesterday didn't I? I'll start off with her second doctor's appointment, which she had on 12/27. It was her 2 week check up. We decided to take her to Reading Pediatrics to see Doctor Brenlinger (or Dr. Jeff) because he was the pediatric doctor who was on call when Ashlyn was first born and we really liked him. She threw up all over the place when he checked her in the hospital! Some fun facts about Ashlyn: Birth weight: 8lbs Birth length: 20 inches Weight when we left the hospital: 7lbs 9oz Weight at first appointment with Dr. Jeff (12/12): 7lbs 11oz Weight at second appointment with Dr. Jeff (12/27): 9lbs 7oz Length at second appointment with Dr. Jeff (12/27): 20.5 inches This little girl weighs 9lbs 7oz already!! I can't believe she gained that much weight in 2 weeks! She is getting so big already! We thought we were starting to get the sleeping under control ...
