Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Mother's Day is fast approaching.  Here are a few gifts I've had my eye on.

I posted this one last Mother's Day.  I got one of these for my Mom and I'm still wanting one for myself.  It's an Origami Owl Living Locket.  I love them!

I always have a hard time with key chains.  For some reason, they always break on me.  So I found this cute key chain that I would love to have engraved!

I've also been wanting a locket for a long time.  I don't want a typical Mom locket, I want something different and something that is my style.  I'm kind of in love with this marcasite locket so I'm hoping for this one.

I started following Jessica Designs on Instagram and I'm hooked!  I love her spoons and I really want the 'you are my sunshine' spoon.  I think I'm going to buy the 'dear mom' spoon for my mom!

I also believe I'm going to make these candles and give them to my mom from my kids.  I think they are so adorable and they look pretty easy to make.

And I fully intend to do a print of this myself and frame it for my mom.

So that's it.  Some nice home made cards would be awesome but my husband isn't exactly crafty so I'm not banking on that!  What kinds of gifts would you like for Mother's Day?

  2. I love the frame idea! The candles look a little out of my league, but I agree with the locket thing. I like monograms and all that but I need something kind of modern looking. I like the one you got for your mom! My mom has 5 kids & 2 grandkids..it might be a little crowded lol

Blog Commenting Challenge!

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,

I'm Not Gonna Lie

Anyone who knows me know that I LOVE Christmas.  I love the decorations.  I love to decorate my own house and see all of the other cool decorations other people have.  There is a house down the street from us that always has more lights and decorations than I have ever seen in one yard.  It's a bit much but it's an attention grabber. I love the Christmas tree.  I love to get the tree out each year (yes we have a fake because I can't stand the needles) and I love to decorate it.  Growing up, our family would decorate the tree together with all kinds of ornaments that we had collected over the years.  I like to do themes for my trees.  Last year I did pink and silver in honor of the newest member of our family.  I'm really hoping to instill the tradition of decorating the tree with my kids. I love finding the perfect gifts for people and I love to watch their reactions when they open those gifts.  I generally wait until I have purchased ALL of my gifts, I sort them

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass
