I Fell Hard

It was an interesting weekend.  On Saturday, Baby Girl went to her last music class.  She had more fun than she has ever had before.  She was singing and dancing the whole time and seemed to really enjoy the class.  I'm kind of glad it's over, though, because I really enjoy our lazy Saturdays together.

After her class, we picked up my Grandmother and headed to a family picnic (Daddy had to work).  I don't usually go to these things but I figured why not.  I hadn't seen some of the family members in quite a few years so we went.  It was fun.  Baby Girl ran around like a wild child as usual.  Her Nan even at her on the ledge of the pool and let her splash and she got soaked!  It was funny because when my Mom tried to take her in her pool at home, Baby Girl screamed her head off.

It was HOT (see those bright red cheeks for proof) but it was still fun!  Baby Girl was wiped out by the time we left and she fell asleep on the ride home.  Of course then she wanted to stay awake later but we let it slide since Daddy didn't get to spend much time with her.

On Sunday, we packed up after church and headed to another friend's house because my husband is helping her with her landscaping.  We took my husband's truck so he could take his tools with.  I think the two of them enjoy this equally.  Daddy loves that his girl his next to him and she loves that she gets to see so much.

She had a great time running around again.  Of course she got mad occasionally because she wanted Daddy to play with her but he was working.  He took a ton of breaks, though, and got a lot of play time in with her.

Now for the title of this post.

Just before we headed out for our afternoon play time, I sort of kind of fell on my face.  I tripped over some crap in our garage.  I mostly landed on my left side, got a gashed knee and a bruised shoulder, but I didn't feel bad.  I didn't think there was any immediate cause for concern.

So we went on our trip.  Little Man moved a little bit on the drive (about 30 mins) but not much.  Then he didn't really move much at all the entire time we were out.  I just figured it was because it was hot outside and I was chasing Baby Girl around.

He didn't move much on the way home either.  And when I got home and laid down and he still didn't move much, I got worried.  He is a very active baby and he just wasn't as active as usual.  Even after an Icee from Sheetz and some caramel candies, he just wasn't moving much.

So the doctor sent me right over to our maternity triage ward at the local hospital.  They hooked me up to a fetal monitor and kept track of the baby's heart beat for 4 hours!  It was a long 4 hours but better safe than sorry.

They did some blood work and ultrasound and said everything looked fine.  After about 2.5 hours, one of the nurses came in and asked if I was in any pain.  I wasn't, but my monitor was showing contractions.  Uh oh.

She did an exam and took some more tests and called the doctor to see if I could go home or if I had to stay over night.  After what seemed like forever, she finally came back and said the contractions stopped so I could go home.  I was so relieved!

Fortunately, my Mom had come and picked up Baby Girl so she didn't have sit with us all night.  But until we got out of the hospital, picked up Baby Girl and got home to bed, it was about 1:30am.  So we are tired today!!!  But at least we know Little Man is OK.

I hope you all had a good weekend!

Blog Commenting Challenge!

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,

I'm Not Gonna Lie

Anyone who knows me know that I LOVE Christmas.  I love the decorations.  I love to decorate my own house and see all of the other cool decorations other people have.  There is a house down the street from us that always has more lights and decorations than I have ever seen in one yard.  It's a bit much but it's an attention grabber. I love the Christmas tree.  I love to get the tree out each year (yes we have a fake because I can't stand the needles) and I love to decorate it.  Growing up, our family would decorate the tree together with all kinds of ornaments that we had collected over the years.  I like to do themes for my trees.  Last year I did pink and silver in honor of the newest member of our family.  I'm really hoping to instill the tradition of decorating the tree with my kids. I love finding the perfect gifts for people and I love to watch their reactions when they open those gifts.  I generally wait until I have purchased ALL of my gifts, I sort them

Big News!

We have been trying very hard to keep this to ourselves for just a little while longer but I can't wait anymore!    Baby Miller #2...due 09/01/13!!!!!!!!! I am 8 weeks and 1 day I have known since Christmas Eve I am much more tired and much more nauseous this time around I haven't gained a single pound yet, unlike last time I am not so secretly hoping it's another girl If this one is anything like Baby Girl, he or she will be born mid-August I've been leaving hints all over the place but no one noticed! I am so excited!   I've already had one doctor's appointment but I was only 7 weeks so there wasn't much to do.  We couldn't hear the heartbeat or anything so the next appointment will be much more exciting!  My next appointment isn't until February 11th so that's when I'll get to hear and possibly see my next little monster!  So exciting!   PS:  Notice the blog title?!
