Random Facts

~I love, love, love music.  I listen to a pretty wide variety of music and don't really have one favorite genre.  My favorite band of all time is Queen.

~Grilled cheese and applesauce is one of my favorite comfort food combinations.  An awesome grilled cheese sandwich dipped in applesauce is like a slice of heaven to me.

~I hate feet.  Don't touch my feet and don't touch me with your feet.  I will never get a pedicure because they freak me out.  My husband has to wear socks because I squirm if he touches me with his bare feet.  The only feet I like are baby feet...and even that is pushing it.

~I smoked for ten years.  And I enjoyed it.  I have been smoke free for almost five years now.  I didn't quit because I wanted to.  I quit because I had to.  Quit smoking or run the risk of developing cervical cancer at 26?  I think I chose wisely.

~I am obsessed with purses.  Especially Coach purses.  I can't go into any store without looking at the purse section.  It's like my sporting goods section.

~My feet grew a size when I started having babies.  No one told me that this could happen but it did.  I thought that it was just from all of the swelling I had during my first pregnancy but they did not shrink back after.  So now I'm a size 8.

~I love to host parties.  I should have been an event planner because I'm pretty good at it.  I love to cook for people and I love to entertain.

~I'm a sad movie person.  Any movie that gives me a good cry is ok with me.  It's weird right?  I don't know why I'm so drawn to sad movies.  The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is one of the saddest movies I have ever seen and I cry every single time I watch it.  And yet I always watch it if it's on.  Seven Pounds, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, The Notebook, Ghost, Meet Joe Black, Steel Magnolias.  I could watch these movies over and over and over again.

~I don't like to watch all those sad movies when my husband is around because he will 1. yell at me for watching such a sad movie 2. make fun of me for crying at the sad movie.  He's more of a comedy movie kind of guy.

~I don't like gummy things.  Swedish fish, gummy bears, Dots gummies.  All gross.  Mostly because I hate when anything is stuck in my teeth.

~Speaking of teeth, I'm weird about them.  It's usually the first thing I notice about a person.  I had crooked teeth as a child and I didn't get braces until I was an adult.  I had my two front teeth broken as a kid and had them bonded and finally crowned when I got older.  I've had a lot of dental work done and my husband and I used to joke about my $6,000 smile because that's about the total cost of all the dental work I've had done, including braces.  And yet I haven't been to the dentist in like two years.  Go me.

~I'm not sure how I feel about God.  I wasn't raised with religion other than my Grandmother taking me to church with her every once in a while.  My husband is very religious, and I started attending church for him.  We regularly attend church and we attend a small group study every week.  I'm a see it to believe it kind of person so the whole concept of faith is hard for me.  I do think it's all very fascinating and I'm learning a lot but I'm just not sure where I stand with all of it.  I always have a million questions and no one every seems to be able to answer them.  I'm honestly hoping for some kind of clarity in all of it, though.  Limbo is no fun in the faith department.

  2. I wish I had braces. I never needed them growing up, yet my smile isn't perfect either. But at this point, I'm 34, married with 2 kids....I suppose my smile will do.

  3. I love/hate sad movies. I definitely cant watch with my husband because he too makes fun of me for crying. I don't like feet, get them away, and I am paying the price for not going to the dentist enough in about an hour, when I go in for a tooth extraction. I'm not going to mess around anymore though, I vow to go every 6 months! Well..that's the goal anyhow lol. I love purses too but I don't have a collection. I usually wear them to death and have to toss them. But the bigger the better! And a zipper, I have to have a zipper.

Blog Commenting Challenge!

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,

I'm Not Gonna Lie

Anyone who knows me know that I LOVE Christmas.  I love the decorations.  I love to decorate my own house and see all of the other cool decorations other people have.  There is a house down the street from us that always has more lights and decorations than I have ever seen in one yard.  It's a bit much but it's an attention grabber. I love the Christmas tree.  I love to get the tree out each year (yes we have a fake because I can't stand the needles) and I love to decorate it.  Growing up, our family would decorate the tree together with all kinds of ornaments that we had collected over the years.  I like to do themes for my trees.  Last year I did pink and silver in honor of the newest member of our family.  I'm really hoping to instill the tradition of decorating the tree with my kids. I love finding the perfect gifts for people and I love to watch their reactions when they open those gifts.  I generally wait until I have purchased ALL of my gifts, I sort them

Big News!

We have been trying very hard to keep this to ourselves for just a little while longer but I can't wait anymore!    Baby Miller #2...due 09/01/13!!!!!!!!! I am 8 weeks and 1 day I have known since Christmas Eve I am much more tired and much more nauseous this time around I haven't gained a single pound yet, unlike last time I am not so secretly hoping it's another girl If this one is anything like Baby Girl, he or she will be born mid-August I've been leaving hints all over the place but no one noticed! I am so excited!   I've already had one doctor's appointment but I was only 7 weeks so there wasn't much to do.  We couldn't hear the heartbeat or anything so the next appointment will be much more exciting!  My next appointment isn't until February 11th so that's when I'll get to hear and possibly see my next little monster!  So exciting!   PS:  Notice the blog title?!
